We have MS Office 2003 on multiple servers.

In my Access program I have a button which runs the Microsoft Office Image Writer.

The problem with this is every time the program is run, it ONLY allows .MDI to be selected from the File Type: I tried having the Network Admin set the default on the Image Writer to TIF, but when a user runs the access program and clicks the button it still only allows them to select .MDI.

So, I was wondering if there was some VBA code I could use to have it automatically select TIF for the user when they click the button. Is this possible?

I have the following code so far:

'Stores the users current's printer in a variable

strDefaultPrinter = Application.Printer.DeviceName

'Assigns the Image Writer Printer as the user's default printer

Set Application.Printer = Application.Printers("Microsoft Office Document Image Writer")

'Restores the user's original default printer

Set Application.Printer = Application.Printers(strDefaultPrinter)

    • You should probably ask this in an Office Developer forum. The questions here focus on SharePoint search issues.
